THE BREITLING NAVITIMER 1

September 7, 2018

Since its release in 1952, the Breitling Navitimer has been one of the world’s most beloved chronographs. With some brilliant additions to its Navitimer 1 family, Breitling is introducing a true watchmaking legend to a whole new generation.

THE BACKSTORY
The Breitling Navitimer is arguably the most iconic of all Breitling wristwatches. This twentieth-century classic remains popular in the twenty-first century, more than 65 years after it was first launched to meet the needs of a growing commercial and recreational aviation market. Thanks to a circular slide rule that was able to perform a range of calculations relevant to aviation, the Navitimer was adopted by pilots and especially favored by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). Instantly recognizable, this timeless chronograph looks as stylish today as it did when it was first designed.

THE LEGENDARY FUTURE: THE NAVITIMER 1 COLLECTION
The Navitimer 1 family has been extended to include eight new references, whose range of sizes, dial options, bracelets, and straps ensures that there is a perfect Navitimer 1 for even the most demanding of wrists.

NAVITIMER 1 CHRONOGRAPH 41
Fans of smaller watches will be drawn to the Navitimer 1 Chronograph 41. It is available in steel and 18 k red gold with a red gold bidirectional rotating bezel, presented with a black dial and a black leather strap. There is also a striking stainless-steel version with a silver dial and brown leather strap. The movement at the heart of the Navitimer 1 Chronograph
41 is the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 13 chronometer, which is wound automatically by a unilaterally
acting ball-bearing rotor, delivering a power reserve of more than 42 hours. These watches feature a screwed stainless-steel caseback. The hour and minute hands are coated with
Super-LumiNova® and can be read easily through the Navitimer 1 Chronograph 41’s convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. These watches are water-resistant to 3 bar (30 meters/100 feet).

MAINTAINING A LEGACY
Breitling is committed to making great wristwatches that perform brilliantly in any environment, but we will never forget our historic link to aviation. For many years, we were largely defined by our timepieces for pilots, and we are proud that the stunning chronographs introduced here remind the world that at the heart of every Breitling watch there is an unmistakable trace of Navitimer DNA.
