ผู้ชายที่หลงใหลในการเดินทาง ธรรมชาติ การบุกเบิกผจญภัย ทั้งยังมีบุคลิกที่อบอุ่น รักครอบครัว และบริหารจัดการเวลาเพื่อทำทั้งงานในวงการบันเทิงและธุรกิจอีกหลายอย่างไปพร้อมๆ กัน ภูริ หิรัญพฤกษ์ นักแสดงที่คร่ำหวอดอยู่ในวงการบันเทิงมากว่า 20 ปี ได้มาร่วมงานกับเพนดูลัมอีกครั้งในการถ่ายแบบกับนาฬิกาเรือนหรู เกรอเบล ฟอร์ซีย์ (Greubel Forsey) รุ่นดับเบิลตูร์บิญงแกนเอียง 30 องศา เทคนิค (Double Tourbillon 30º Technique)

ในวันถ่ายทำ เขามาในท่าทีสบายๆ แต่ยังคงความเป็นมืออาชีพ เอ่ยทักทายอย่างสุภาพก่อนเริ่มอัพเดตผลงานปัจจุบัน “ตอนนี้กำลังถ่ายละครเรื่อง ‘ใต้หล้า’ เตรียมจะออกอากาศทางช่อง One 31 ครับ แล้วก็ยังทำรายการท่องเที่ยว Viewfinder ฉายทางช่อง 7 และทาง Youtube/Facebook ควบคู่ไปกับการดูแลธุรกิจอสังหาฯ อยู่ 3 แห่ง คือ ภูริปาย วิลล่า จ.แม่ฮ่องสอน, ไพรเวทวิลล่า บนเกาะนาคาน้อย ที่ภูเก็ต แล้วก็ Defender Glamping Experience ที่สวนผึ้ง จ.ราชบุรี รวมถึงทำธุรกิจอาหารเสริมเพื่อสุขภาพด้วย” คุณภูริเล่า

Known for his passion for travel, nature and pioneering adventures, Puri Hiranprueck is also a loving family man who multitasks between his show-business career and multiple business ventures. Now a 20-year veteran of the entertainment industry, the actor joined Pendulum once again for a photo shoot featuring the super-luxury Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillion 30º Technique.

On the day of our shoot, Puri appeared casual and relaxed but remained the consummate professional. He offered polite greetings before bringing us up to date on his work. “I’m shooting a series, ‘Tai La,’ soon to be aired on One 31. I also have my own travel show, Viewfinder, which is shown on Channel 7 and also on YouTube and Facebook. Simultaneously with these, I run three real estate businesses – Puri Pai Villa in Mae Hong Son, a private villa on Phuket’s Naka Noi Island, and Defender Glamping Experience in Suan Phueng, Ratchaburi – as well as a health supplement business,” he shared.

แม้ในบทบาทของนักแสดง เขาจะทำได้ดีและมีเสน่ห์มากแค่ไหน แต่ดูเหมือนบทบาทของพิธีกรรายการท่องเที่ยวที่เขาผลิตและสร้างสรรค์เองอย่าง Viewfinder จะอธิบายตัวตนของเขาได้ชัดเจนมากกว่า ด้วยจุดเริ่มต้นของความชอบในการเดินทางท่องเที่ยวมาตั้งแต่เด็ก ชอบทำกิจกรรมโลดโผนผจญภัยแบบผู้ชายลุยๆ โดยเฉพาะการดำน้ำที่จริงจังมาตั้งแต่เมื่อ 20 ปีก่อน หลงใหลการออกสำรวจโลกใต้ท้องทะเล จนได้ถ่ายทำคอนเทนต์ใต้น้ำและต่อยอดมาเป็นรายการโทรทัศน์

                “ระหว่างภูเขากับทะเล…ผมชอบทะเลมากกว่านะ อยู่กับทะเลมีความสุขทุกครั้ง ชอบที่ที่ธรรมชาติสมบูรณ์ และคนไม่เยอะ ผมชอบเอาเรือส่วนตัวไปตามเกาะต่างๆ ที่ไม่มีใครเขาไปกัน ไปจอดนอนและใช้ชีวิตบนนั้นกันเอง กับเพื่อนหรือกับทีมงาน” เขาไปเที่ยวทะเลมาเกือบทุกที่แล้วในเมืองไทย ช่วงหลังจึงหันมาสนใจเทรกกิ้งและเที่ยวแบบ road trip บ้าง โดยเฉพาะการขี่มอเตอร์ไซค์ที่เป็นอีกหนึ่งแพสชั่น

                “จะบอกว่าผมเป็นดาราคนแรกๆ ก็ได้ ที่ไปขี่มอเตอร์ไซค์ในปากีสถาน ไปเลห์ ลาดักห์ (Leh Ladakh) และนำเสนอเรื่องราว เปิดมุมมองแปลกๆ ให้คนที่อาจจะเคยมีภาพไม่ดีกับสถานที่เหล่านั้น ได้เห็นว่าที่จริงมันสวยงามมากเลยนะ” ก่อนโควิด เขาเคยวางแผนจะไปเอเวอร์เรสต์ เบสแคมป์ที่ทิเบต มองโกเลีย แต่ก็ต้องพับแผนไปหมด แล้วมาออกทริปในประเทศไทยแทน อย่างเมื่อกลางปี 2564 ก็ขี่บิ๊กไบค์ไปเพชรบูรณ์กับกลุ่มเพื่อน แล้วไปผจญภัยกับกระแสน้ำป่าที่ท่วมถนน แต่สำหรับเขา มันคือประสบการณ์ชีวิตและความท้าทายในการแก้ปัญหา

“มันน่าจะเป็นความรู้สึกข้างในของเราครับที่ชอบการเป็นนักบุกเบิก (pioneer) คือเราอาจจะไม่ใช่คนแรกซะทีเดียวหรอก แต่ท่ามกลางคนในกลุ่มๆ เพื่อน หรือคนที่ติดตามเราอยู่ เรารู้สึกว่าการเป็นคนแรกที่ไปเยือน แล้วได้ไปบอกกับกลุ่มเพื่อนว่าตรงนี้มันมีที่ใหม่หรือมีอะไรที่มันว้าว มีวิวที่ amazing มากๆ หรือมีอะไรที่ครั้งหนึ่งในชีวิตคุณควรมาทำ พอมีคนไปตามรอย เราก็มีความสุขที่ได้ไปนำเสนอมุมมองนี้กับเขา มันมีคุณค่า”

As good and charismatic as he is as an actor, it is his role as the host, creator and producer of Viewfinder that better defines Puri. His love of travel took root at a young age and he is drawn to rugged adventure activities. A serious diver for 20 years, his passion for exploring the underwater world led him into underwater content creation, which eventually grew into Viewfinder.

                “Between mountains and the sea, I prefer the sea and I’m happy every time I go. I like it where nature is pristine and there are no crowds. I like to take my boat to islands where no one else goes. I just moor my boat and camp out on shore with my friends or my crew.” Having visited nearly all the seas in Thailand, Puri recently turned his interest to trekking and road trips, and motorcycle trips are now one of his passions.

                “I’m one of the first actors to take a motorcycle trip in Pakistan. I went to Leh, Ladakh and presented stories [on Viewfinder] that open up unusual perspectives to let those who maybe have a negative view of those places see how beautiful they are.” Before the pandemic hit, he had planned a trip to Mount Everest base camps in Tibet and Mongolia; that plan was subsequently shelved in favor of domestic trips. A big-bike trip to Phetchabun with a group of friend in mid-2021 unexpectedly turned adventurous when a flash flood inundated the road they were traveling on, but Puri viewed the incident simply as a life experience and a problem-solving challenge.

                “My love of being a pioneer comes from inside,” he said. “I may not be the very first person [to visit a place], but to be the first in my group of friends to do that and then come back and share with them, or my followers, that there’s this new place with a wow factor or really amazing views that make it worth visiting once in a lifetime, and then when people actually go there… It makes me happy that I got to offer them this perspective. It makes it all worth it.”

ขณะที่เรือนเวลาเกรอเบล ฟอร์ซีย์ ก็ก่อตั้งขึ้นจากนักบุกเบิกสองท่าน โรแบร์ เกรอเบล (Robert Greubel) ชาวฝรั่งเศส และสตีเฟน ฟอร์ซีย์ ชาวอังกฤษ ผู้มีความสนใจและความรู้อย่างลึกซึ้งในด้านกลไกนาฬิกา ได้ร่วมมือกันคิดค้นพัฒนานวัตกรรมกลไกอันสลับซับซ้อนที่เป็นชิ้นแรกของโลกอยู่หลายกลไก ซึ่งเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการทำงานให้นาฬิกาของเกรอเบล ฟอร์ซีย์ มีเอกลักษณ์ที่แตกต่างและเพิ่มมูลค่า อย่างเรือนที่คุณภูริสวมใส่นี้ก็ใช้กลไกดับเบิลตูร์บิญงแกนเอียง 30 องศา สิ่งประดิษฐ์ชิ้นแรกของเกรอเบล ฟอร์ซีย์ ที่เป็นหัวใจสำคัญอยู่ในผลงานสร้างสรรค์หลากหลายรุ่น

                “ถ้าเปรียบเป็นซูเปอร์คาร์ นาฬิการุ่นนี้ก็ต้องเรียกว่าไฮเปอร์คาร์ครับ มันเหนือกว่าซูเปอร์คาร์ไปอีก เหมือนรถที่มีคันเดียวในโลก ผลิตออกมาน้อยมาก ราคาสูงมาก แล้วก็มีเพอร์ฟอร์แมนซ์ที่เหนือคนอื่น เรือนนี้กลไกค่อนข้างพิเศษ เป็นการโชว์ความเหนือในเทคโนโลยีที่อยู่ในนาฬิกา มีความพิเศษในตัว พอมาอยู่บนแขนเรา ก็รู้สึกภูมิใจว่าครั้งหนึ่งเราได้มีโอกาสลองใส่มัน รู้สึกว่าจะไม่อาบน้ำไปอีกหลายวันครับ” เขาหัวเราะ

                “ไม่ว่าจะเป็นนาฬิกา รถ หรือเสื้อผ้า ผมคิดว่ามันบ่งบอกไลฟ์สไตล์และตัวตนของเรา แต่ละคนจะมีสไตล์ของตัวเอง อย่างผมเวลาจะเลือกอะไร ต้องเลือกที่ตัวเองชอบก่อน ดูว่าดีไซน์และฟังก์ชั่นของมันเป็นยังไง และให้ผลลัพธ์กับเรายังไง แต่สุดท้ายถ้าพูดถึงเรื่องราคาและความหรูหรานะ ผมคิดว่าของที่แพงคือของที่เราซื้อมาแล้วเราไม่ได้ใช้ คือถ้าผมซื้อรถหรือนาฬิกาหลักสิบล้านบาทมาแต่ใช้งานแทบทุกวัน ผมว่ามันก็คุ้มค่า” และนาฬิกาคือสิ่งที่ภูริสวมใส่เสมอ ในวันทำงานอาจเป็นสไตล์เดรสวอช แต่สำหรับวันเดินทางก็จะใช้นาฬิกาสไตล์สปอร์ต และยิ่งถ้าไปแอดเวนเจอร์ ก็มักจะเลือกนาฬิกาที่มีกลไกสามารถวัดค่าต่างๆ ได้แม่นยำ

                “เวลาเดินทาง ผมยังพก earplug ด้วยนะ เพราะเป็นคนนอนหลับยาก อย่างไปนอนเต็นท์ เราก็ต้องมีอุปกรณ์ที่ช่วยให้นอนหลับสบาย ถ้านอนไม่ดี มันก็จะมีปัญหา และอีกอย่างก็คืออาหารเสริมครับ” เขาดูแลสุขภาพทั้งเรื่องอาหารการกินและการออกกำลังกายมาแต่ไหนแต่ไร พอช่วงวิกฤติโควิดที่เทรนด์สุขภาพได้รับความสนใจมากขึ้น จึงหันมาทำผลิตภัณฑ์สุขภาพที่เป็นการแปรรูปผงผักเคลออกมาจำหน่าย ทั้งยังปรับเปลี่ยนรูปแบบ ‘ภูริปาย วิลล่า’ ที่แม่ฮ่องสอน ให้กลายเป็น Wellness Retreat (การดูแลสุขภาพ) และ Rehabilitation Sanctuary (บำบัดฟื้นฟู) เพื่อตอบโจทย์กลุ่มลูกค้าที่รักสุขภาพ

The talk about a pioneer spirit brings us to Greubel Forsey, the brainchild of two pioneers, Frenchman Robert Greubel and Englishman Stephen Forsey. With their deep interest in and knowledge of watch movements, they have developed many world’s-firsts in terms of complications and their inventions are what drive the performance, uniqueness and worth of Greubel Forsey timepieces. The elegant piece on Puri’s wrist is powered by the Double Tourbillon Double Tourbillion 30º Technique, Greubel Forsey’s very first invention and the heart of several imaginative models from the manufacture.

“If watches were supercars, this model would be a hypercar. It’s super-limited edition, one of a kind, extremely highly priced and above all others in terms of performance. The movement is quite special and showcases the superior technology inside. It’s special in and of itself. When I had it on my wrist, I felt proud to have the chance to try it on. I don’t think I’m going to take a bath for the next several days,” Puri said with a laugh.

                “To me, your watch, your car and your clothes all reflect who you are and the lifestyle you lead,” he continued. “Each person has his own style. As for myself, what I like always comes first when I am choosing something. I look at the design, the functions and what effect it has on me. In the end I think that when you talk about price and luxury, something is expensive if you buy it but never use it. But if you spent an eight-figure sum on a car or a watch and then used it nearly every day, then I’d say you got your money’s worth.” Puri always wears a watch, a dress watch on workdays, a sport watch when he’s traveling and a watch with accurate measuring instruments on his adventure trips.

                “When I’m traveling I also carry earplugs because I find it hard to go to sleep. When camping in a tent, you need tools to help you get a good sleep because if you don’t sleep well you will have a problem. I also take supplements with me.” Puri has always taken good care of his health by eating well and exercising. With health trends picking up during the pandemic, he launched a health supplement made from kale powder and revamped his Puri Pai Villa in Mae Hong Son into a wellness retreat and rehabilitation sanctuary targeting health-conscious consumers.

“ช่วงโควิดมาปีแรก ธุรกิจที่พักของผมกระทบหนัก ภูริปาย วิลล่า ปิดไป 3-4 เดือน และเราก็มองว่าธุรกิจท่องเที่ยวไม่น่าจะกลับมาเร็วภายใน 3-4 ปีนี้หรอก มันจะมีเหตุการณ์แบบนี้มาเรื่อยๆ เดี๋ยวรัฐบาลก็เปิดปิด ล็อกแล้วก็คลายล็อกไปแบบนี้ ทำให้ความต่อเนื่องสำหรับนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติไม่มี เราเลยต้องปรับตัว ด้วยการลดราคาลง แล้วยิงแอดฯจับกลุ่มตลาดคนไทย ซึ่งเรามองเห็นว่าโลกของสุขภาพและการดูแลตัวเองมันกำลังอินเทรนด์ทั่วโลก โควิดส่งผลต่อทั้งสุขภาพกายและสุขภาพจิต ผมเลยปรับภูริปาย เน้นขายที่พักเป็นระยะยาวพร้อมโปรแกรมบำบัด มีผู้เชี่ยวชาญมาให้คำแนะนำและแก้ไข ไม่ว่าจะเป็นคนที่มีปัญหาเรื่องความเครียดหรือการติด (addiction) อะไรก็ตาม” ภูริยังปรับเปลี่ยนแม้แต่รูปแบบการนำเสนอรายการท่องเที่ยว Viewfinder Thailand ให้เน้นการท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทยแต่นำเสนอด้วยมุมมองใหม่ๆ ซึ่งผลกลายเป็นว่ามียอดชม ยอดไลค์ และยอดติดตามเพิ่มขึ้นมากกว่าเดิม เพราะเนื้อหาเข้าถึงผู้ชมให้สามารถไปตามรอยได้ง่ายกว่า

“แรกๆ ที่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลง เราอาจจะตกใจและกังวลกับมัน แต่เราต้องปรับ mindset ของตัวเอง และหาวิธีใหม่ๆ ให้สอดคล้องกับสถานการณ์ที่มันเกิดขึ้นที่เราควบคุมไม่ได้ มันมีโอกาสอยู่ในวิกฤติเสมอครับ อย่าง Defender Glamping Experience ที่สวนผึ้งนี่ตอนนี้ก็ยอดจองเต็มทั้งปี เพราะคนอยู่กทม. ที่มีกำลังจับจ่ายก็ยังมี แล้วพวกเขาก็ไม่รู้จะไปไหน เราก็เลยทำที่เที่ยวที่สร้างประสบการณ์พิเศษ ไม่ต้องไปพบเจอคนเยอะ มีที่พักระดับ 5 ดาว มีรถ Land Rover มาให้เทสต์ แล้วก็มีอาหารเครื่องดื่ม full board เรามองว่าการสร้าง emotional product ไม่ว่าจะเป็นประสบการณ์ใหม่ๆ หรือนาฬิกาที่มีความพิเศษที่ดึงดูดให้คุณอยากครอบครอง พวกนี้ไม่มีวันตกแม้จะเจอวิกฤติ”

ไม่ใช่แค่วิสัยทัศน์ที่ต้องมองเกมให้ขาด แต่เคล็ดลับในความสำเร็จของภูริที่สำคัญอีกอย่างคือการบริหารจัดการเวลา เพราะเขาทำงานหลายอย่างแถมมีครอบครัวที่ต้องดูแล “ผมจัดอันดับ 3 สิ่งที่ต้องทำ ควรทำ และอยากทำครับ ในหนึ่งวัน ตื่นขึ้นมา 4-5 ชั่วโมงแรก เราทำสิ่งที่ต้องทำให้เสร็จไปก่อน หลังจากนั้นค่อยไปทำสิ่งที่ควรทำและสิ่งที่อยากทำ จัด priority ให้ถูกแล้วก็ตั้งเป้าหมายในชีวิต อย่างผมเองคิดว่าสักอายุไม่เกิน 50-60 ปี จะต้องมีเงินเก็บและทรัพย์สินให้มากพอที่จะเกษียณ และไปทำสิ่งตัวเองชอบได้อย่างไม่กดดัน ดังนั้นเป้าหมายระยะกลางใน 3-4 ปีนี้ ผมก็เลยต้องทุ่มเทและเหนื่อยกับหลายงานมาก เพื่อจะได้มีเงินเก็บมากพอสำหรับตัวเองและครอบครัว”

การทำสิ่งที่ตัวเองชอบที่ภูริเอ่ยถึง ก็คงไม่พ้นเรื่องของการเดินทางเพราะ “การเดินทางทำให้ผมได้เรียนรู้หลายอย่าง ได้พูดคุยแลกเปลี่ยนสิ่งต่างๆ กับคนที่เขาประสบความสำเร็จในบางเรื่อง ผมเจอคนที่ให้โอกาสมากมายจากการเดินทาง และผมก็ได้คว้าโอกาสนั้น ได้ลองทำมัน และมันก็ทำให้ผมมาเป็นตัวผมได้อย่างทุกวันนี้”

“My lodging businesses were hard hit during the first year of the pandemic,” he said. “Puri Pai Villa had to close for three or four months and I don’t think the tourism industry will make a quick comeback in the next three to four years. We’ll continue to see more of these [spreading] events and the government will do more rounds of restrictions and relaxation, which means we won’t be seeing continuity in terms of foreign tourists. We have adapted by lowering prices and launching ads targeted at domestic customers. We saw that health and taking care of oneself is a global trend as Covid continues to impact people’s physical and mental health, so we decided to revamp Puri Pai to focus on selling long-stay accommodation with therapeutic programs where experts offer advice and rehabilitation for those with stress problems or addiction of any kind.” He also revamped his show, now called Viewfinder Thailand, to focus on domestic tourism from a new perspective. The show has since attracted more views, likes and follows because the content is more accessible and viewers can more easily replicate his trips.

                “When change comes, we may initially feel shaken and worried. What we need to do is adjust our mindset and look for new ways to adapt to a situation we cannot control. But there are opportunities in every crisis. Defender Glamping Experience in Suan Phueng, for example, is fully booked through the end of the year. We knew there are Bangkok residents with purchasing power who don’t know where to go, so we built a destination that offers a special experience away from crowds, with five-star accommodation, Land Rovers for test-drives and full-board food and beverages. The way we see it, if you build an emotional product, whether a new experience or a special timepiece that makes you want to own it, demand will never fall, even in a crisis.”

                Besides a vision that allows him to take a decisive view of the game, good time management is another key to success for this multitasker and family man. “I make a list of three priorities: what I have to do, what I should do, and what I want to do. Get the things that need to be done out of the way in the first four or five hours after you wake up, then you can move on to what you should do and what you want to do. Get your priorities straight and set life goals. My personal goal is to have enough savings and assets to retire by age 50-60, so that I’ll be able to do what I like without pressure. In the medium term I need to dedicate myself to working hard on many things through the next three to four years, to ensure that I will have enough for myself and my family.”

What Puri means by doing what he likes will no doubt involve travel, because “travel allows me to learn many things, to talk to and exchange with people who are successful in some ways. It is through travel that I have met the people who have offered me so many opportunities. I have grabbed them, given them a try, and they have made me into who I am today.”
