Franck Muller x Vatanika Thailand Limited Edition

Franck Muller, a unique and stylish brand with exceptional watchmaking know-how, is pleased to introduce 4 new timepieces in the Franck Muller x Vatanika Limited Edition collection 2019, a special collection for Thailand co-designed by talented Thai fashion designer and Friend of Franck Muller, Vatanika Patamasingh Na Ayudhya.

The journey of this special collection started in the middle of 2018 at Franck Muller boutique, Siam Paragon. Vatanika was contacted by Franck Muller to be part of this special project. As a successful fashion designer of her eponymous label and a Friend of Franck Muller, she saw it as an opportunity to express her creativity, and a great honour to design new timepieces for Thailand on behalf of the brand. Going back to her design studio, Vatanika began to start working, and after some exchanging of sketches with the design team of Franck Muller Geneva, a visit was made to the brand’s headquarters and manufacture at Watchland, Geneva, Switzerland in winter at the beginning of 2019. There, Vatanika examined the prototypes and this was the birth of the 4 designs of the Franck Muller Thailand Limited Edition 2019:

Inspiration     

“For the design, I imagine a confident and self-assured woman who knows what she wants. She is creative, embraces her own style and doesn’t follow others,” said Vatanika about the idea behind this minimalist collection with a modern twist, a concept shared by Franck Muller and Vatanika. She chose Franck Muller’s two most iconic pillar lines, the Cintrée Curvex™ and the Master Square™. The inspiration for the dial is a personal one. “For the Roman numerals, five is like the letter V, which is also my initial, while eleven, or 11 P.M. is the best time for me to work creatively. Also, in theatrical performances, the term ‘eleven o’clock’ signifies a crucial moment of revelation.” said Vatanika

As for the colors, Vatanika opted for her favorite colors, which are Flaming Red symbolising power, courage, sensual beauty and passion, and Midnight Black which symbolises elegance and mystery.
